Following rigorous clinical trials involving thousands of people and extensive analysis of the vaccine’s safety, quality and effectiveness by experts from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Pfizer/BioNTech’s vaccine has been authorised for use in the UK.

The government is seeking proposals from UK regions and communities who have the necessary infrastructure to site the UK’s first STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) fusion energypower plant. The programme to create the first national fusion hub will create thousands of new highly skilled jobs. Space X rocket launches BioAsteroid research experiment – Press release
A UK-led space biomining experiment with the potential to provide resources for future space missions, is due to launch on a SpaceX rocket on 8 December 2020. The BioAsteroid experiment will take up match-box sized containers carrying asteroid rock, that will then be used to grow bacteria and fungi to investigate how gravity affects interaction between microbes and rock in reduced gravity.
